About

A bit about me:

The author hails from New York and has traveled around the world several times over as the official tourism representative for The Big Apple.

She has served as hostess for three Royal Visits to the USA and says that a highlight was sharing a gin and tonic straight up with HRH The Duke of Edinburgh onboard The Royal Yacht Britannia.

Laurie is an international marketing professional who has spent half her life in London working for some of the finest luxury hotels in Western Europe and raising two thoroughly bi-cultural children in the British educational system.

A natural connector of people and ideas, she took top prize in 2009 and 2010 as London’s most productive networking professional.   She now aims to do likewise in SF.

A recent transplant to San Francisco, catching up on a couple of decades of Americana and brand new to the West Coast, she wonders if it may be a mistake since the ground is prone to shake.

ReferencePlease:
State your “reference, please” is the lesson I recall from an excellent 8th grade Social Studies teacher in Huntington, New York. Her name, unfortunately forgotten now, her lessons are not  forgotten; she taught us how important it is to back up your opinions with research. This was a lesson that stuck…together with the ability to recite the Gettysburg address and sing all fifty states in alphabetical order. However, both of these last two are way too long for a blog name.
